I grew up hearing my grandfather tell stories of when he had his pilots license and the trips he would take along with the planes he would fly. Including one time landing a Cessna at JFK. He let his currency lapse before I came along but I always enjoyed hearing him tell those stories. He also kept up his AOPA membership and I remember reading through the magazines, imagining what it would be like to fly.
Getting my Pilots license has always been on my list of things to do… I just needed to save up a little more money, or I needed to finish school first, then I’d have time, etc… Life just got in the way. Well no longer. I’ve made a decision that I am going to get my pilots license now and this is my journey. My goal is to take my grandfather up for a flight (he’s currently 91) but also to be able to just enjoy flying.
This blog is not meant to be flight instruction. This is just my journey where I’ll talk about my path and experiences. I plan on talking about my experiences and helpful things I’ve found.
